Glyphs Crit

This went well, I didn't feel like I had done enough glyphs though, to explore the text I found in Poole, I seemed to have focused more on the icons part of the project. Though no worries, I still have time to go back and create a few more characters before the final hand-in. Neil said that I should probably take a step back and use solid black shapes for the icons rather than going overboard with the effects and colouring of them. Fair point, I guess I did just want to show off what I had learnt in his lessons.

I think the icons that works best is the lamppost because of the way I've coloured in the shadows, making it looking more like a stencil, it actually looks like an icon, whereas something like the boat, because of the feathering around it and how you don't know where the grey stops, it would be hard to make that into an actual icon shape. The ice cream was my first icon I did on Illustrator and it was just basically a bit of fun, no seriousness and a little humour. And as I said before, I'm not very happy with my typography, so I will go back and develop them further.
