idea generation

This was probably one of the hardest part of the project, War on Want don't have many adverts which was good in a way as we wouldn't be inclined to sub-conciously copy the ideas, but in a way, because there was no base or style that we knew that they liked to use in their adverts, it was hard to come up with a single idea that would be efficient in delivering the message of the charity.

I began coming up with an series of examples which were either boring or feminine. It was hard getting started, and I had to go through a number of different methods to finally be able to come up with potential ideas. I used word association quite a bit to get rough ideas of what I could base my idea on seeing as no immediate obvious ideas were coming to mind. I also looked into how other people interpret poverty and different charity adverts that have worked in the past.

This image is so strong and everything links together so cleverly that it makes the viewer think and remember it. The statement is also short and gets to the point, making it memorable and influential in making one want to help them.
